Welcome! The People’s Music School is the only tuition-free community music school of its kind in the United States. Founded in 1976 by Dr. Rita Simo, the School was created to offer private music instruction to anyone, regardless of their financial resources. Today, the School offers classical music instruction to hundreds of children each year at our facility in Uptown, Chicago and through our outreach program, the YOURS Project.
