Hosted by the beautiful Feinberg Theater at Venue SIX10, guests were treated to an evening of films produced by <a href=\"http:\/\/kv265.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KV 265<\/a>&#8216;s Dr. Jose Fransisco Salgado with live scores performed by our <a href=\"https:\/\/peoplesmusicschool.org\/es\/programs\/youth-orchestras\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Albany Park Youth Orchestra<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/peoplesmusicschool.org\/images\/blogs\/KV265 Collab\/Program1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Dr. Salgado&#8217;s films included stunning NASA images of &#8220;The Blue Earth&#8221;, outer space, and Jupiter &#8211; complete with aerial views of sand dunes in Namibia, thunderstorms over Mexico, and auroras on both Earth and Jupiter. Remember when your jaw dropped while watching Planet Earth for the first time? It was like that, but better, and with a youth orchestra performing live while you watched. Incredible. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"\">Terrance Gray, TPMS faculty of over 25 years, led the orchestra through moving performances of the following works:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: black; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">The Blue Danube &#8211; J. Stauss (1864-1949)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: black; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">The Planets, Jupiter &#8211; G. Holst (1874-1934)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/peoplesmusicschool.worldsecuresystems.com\/images\/blogs\/KV265 Collab\/Program3.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/peoplesmusicschool.worldsecuresystems.com\/images\/blogs\/KV265 Collab\/DrSalgado.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Dr. Nina Kraus, of Northwestern University&#8217;s Auditory Neuroscience Lab\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brainvolts.northwestern.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brainvolts<\/a>, layered on more incredible science by sharing her research on how music impacts the brain. Did you know&#8230; that sustained time learning and performing music rewires the brain? &#8230; \u00a0that the brains of adult musicians are &#8220;younger&#8221; than the brains of adults who are not musicians? &#8230; that the benefits of music are lasting &#8211; so that even adults who no longer learn, practice and perform music still have the biological benefits of their childhood music involvement?<\/span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/peoplesmusicschool.worldsecuresystems.com\/images\/blogs\/KV265 Collab\/DrNinaKraus.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">As conductor Terrance Gray put it &#8211; music creates building blocks for sustained, valuable learning in ways that no other activity can. We agree! \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/peoplesmusicschool.worldsecuresystems.com\/images\/blogs\/KV265 Collab\/SLAM1.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div align=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Immediately following the program, guests were invited to mingle and enjoy cocktails and hors d&#8217;oeuvres.
