Other Ways to Engage
Board of Directors
Our rockstar Board of Directors supports the school’s growth in so many ways – solid governance, strategic guidance, fundraising, advocacy and ambassadorship. This group is a great fit for individuals looking to be leaders at a fast-paced, professionally managed nonprofit. We welcome your interest and invite you to explore whether the Board or a Board Committee position might be the right fit for you.
Our Associate Board members organize and support friend-raising and fundraising events around Chicago to spread the word about TPMS. They also lend their time and talent to strategic projects, as needed, throughout the year. A great fit for those passionate about supporting and promoting awareness about our school’s mission, vision, and values.
Life gets busy after high school! That makes it hard to stay connected to the people who helped you along the way. We get it. And we’re here to help. The TPMS Alumni Chapter provides our alumni with an excuse to stay connected to their friends no matter where they go to college, to give back by mentoring current students, and to find new opportunities through professional development and networking. The Alumni Chapter is part of the Associate Board, a group of young professionals who support the school and are excited to connect with you!
SLAM Mentorship Program
This amazing group of people commits to the school in three ways. They engage with students through structured mentorships in our high school SLAM program. They support the TPMS community by playing an active role in TPMS events. And they impact the TPMS mission through an annual sponsorship. A musical background is definitely appreciated, but not required!
Did you know all TPMS families must contribute at least eight hours of volunteer time each semester – and collectively do the work of 20 full time employees? Wow! In addition to these inspiring families, we welcome individuals and corporate groups for volunteer projects throughout the year. These have included everything from painting to research to deep-dive strategy sessions.
