The People’s Music School Receives Grant from D’Addario Foundation

We are delighted to announce that The People’s Music School has been awarded a grant from the D’Addario Foundation! Their support allows us to expand our instrument inventory, bringing new and improved instruments to students across our programs.

The D’Addario Foundation works to provide as many children as possible with an extraordinary musical education through grants, scholarships, and high quality, high-impact community programs. More recently, The People’s Music School was selected to participate in the Foundation’s Immersive Music Challenge, a longitudinal study that will demonstrate the impact immersive music can have on children’s academic performance and mental wellbeing.

Thank you, D’Addario Foundation, for your dedicated support of The People’s Music School!

About the Immersive Music Challenge

The D’Addario Foundation has launched the Immersive Music Challenge (IMC) to demonstrate, across multiple sites throughout the United States, the impact immersive music can have on children’s academic performance and mental wellbeing.

As an IMC implementation partner, TPMS will receive five years of generous grant support from the D’Addario Foundation, as well as donations of instruments and supplies for our students and our program. We are honored to have been selected as an implementation partner for one of the IMC’s five core sites, with our Albany Park program playing a key role in this initiative. We look forward to gaining an even better understanding of the impact our program can have on students, families, and communities, thanks to the support of the D’Addario Foundation.
