Back of The Yards New Student Open House

Attending an in-person open house is REQUIRED in order to enroll your child in The People’s Music School for the 2026-27 school year. No registration is required to attend this open house. You can simply walk in the day of the open house.
The People’s Music School offers high quality, after-school tuition-free music education to school aged children in Chicago who would otherwise would face financial barriers to access. Based on a student’s age, we offer classes in general music, instrumental studies, music theory, and a variety of ensembles. The People’s Music School calendar runs from September to June.
Students enrolled in our program will:
- Attend after school classes 2 days a week for up to 4 hours.
- Participate in performances throughout the school year
- Take part in engaging masterclasses with guest artists
- Gain skills through participating in our intensive music program that will benefit them throughout their life
