In music, resonance occurs when one vibration amplifies another. A single note grows stronger because something else responds to it. It is a reminder that when individual voices, talents, and efforts come together, they create something far greater than any one could achieve alone. For over 50 years, Rita Simó’s dream has resonated across generations, inspiring students, families, teachers, supporters, and artistic partners to carry her vision forward. Each new student, each teaching artist, each generous donor, and each community partner adds their own voice to a mission whose impact continues to grow. And it grows because of a collective commitment to a shared purpose.

That’s why we’re asking for your support for Big Night: Resonance, the People’s Music School’s tenth annual Big Night gala. On our biggest night of the year, we will celebrate the collective effort that has sustained our mission for five decades and honor the individuals and organizations whose influence continues to echo through generations of young musicians.

This year, we are proud to honor Third Coast Percussion, whose extraordinary artistry, innovation, and commitment to music education have resonated throughout The People’s Music School for more than a decade. Through hands-on learning experiences, creative collaborations, and inspiring performances with our students and faculty, the GRAMMY® Award-winning percussion quartet has expanded what’s possible for our students. Their generosity and artistic curiosity have encouraged students to think more creatively, and approach music with imagination and confidence. The influence of those experiences extends well beyond their time in the music classroom, continuing to shape our students as musicians and lifelong learners.
