2015 Performathon – Saturday, May 2nd

This full day of musical celebration provided by our students, for families and friends in the community is the culmination of many months of planning and preparation.  Performathon 2015 will feature performances by our Uptown Academy students, as well as games, raffle, food and fun for the entire family! All proceeds from the event will support our free music education programs.

Frequently Asked Questions about Performathon:

What is Performathon?
Performathon is a school-wide, grassroots fundraiser in which all Uptown Academy families participate. This annual event raises crucial funds to support private instruction at the Uptown Academy – allowing us to serve more families each year. Students collect donations and obtain sponsors in the months leading up to the event, and then will perform on May 2nd for family and friends.

How does Performathon work?
Students sign up to participate and obtain a packet of fundraising materials. Students then ask family and friends to sponsor them in this event. The students who raise the most will be eligible to win prizes.

Can I sponsor a student?
Yes! Donations can be made online, or by check. For online donations, after the box “Please designate my gift to a specific program:”, please enter “2015 Performathon – Student’s Name”. For gifts via mail, please make checks payable to The People’s Music School, with the student’s name and 2015 Performathon in the memo. Checks can be mailed to 931 W. Eastwood, Chicago IL 60640.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes! As we are a registered 501c3 organization, all donations to The People’s Music School are tax deductible. All donors will receive an official receipt and acknowledgment from the organization after donating.

How else can I get involved?
We are always looking for volunteers to help out on the day of the event. Please contact Lilly Torres if you would like to help out!

We hope to see you on May 2nd at the Uptown Academy!
